The concept of this work stems from a woman’s daily life at home, capturing moments of discomfort from wearing new shoes that cause an ankle injury and the misplacement of a hair tie. The girl’s ankle, adorned with a brown bandage, hints at the minor injury caused by the friction of new shoes, adding a sense of lived reality. At her feet, a black circular line represents a lost hair tie scattered on the floor, reflecting the common habit of misplacing small items. The creative intent is to capture the trivial challenges of daily life, with the girl’s foot and bandage symbolizing the process of adapting to new things and the slight wounds new shoes may bring, while the lost hair tie metaphorically represents small forgetfulness in life. The soft contrast of purple and white brings tranquility, and the woven texture adds handmade warmth, contrasting with the details of the ankle injury and lost item, showcasing the coexistence of coziness and imperfection in domestic life. The artwork aims to evoke the viewer’s resonance with the small frustrations of everyday memories, presenting the poetic and humorous essence of the ordinary.

My enthusiasm for art originates from my practice of punch needling and hand embroidery as mediums. Using needle, yarn and thread, I explore the close bond between individuals and objects, transforming everyday scenes and mindsets into durable resilient embroidered images. I craft tender feelings, illustrating the stillness of life. These layered fiber act as both a personal shield and a soft counter to external complexities. I reinterpret ordinary objects and leave the contours of memories on fabric, creating a subtle tension between the familiar and the unfamiliar in the interplay of threads or yarn. My creations bring daily occurrences to light within the repetitive texture of needlecraft—those overlooked fragments of life, quiet sentiments. Every loop in the process holds a narrative, enabling me to uncover new perspectives through repeated motions and sense how art transforms the mundane into the eternal.
